Author

Suzanna Cruickshank, an outdoor swim guide residing in the Lake District, found her heart captured by Cumbria's charm in 2006 after conquering just one mountain. Since then, her affection for the region has only deepened.

Founder of Suzanna Swims, she leads guided swims and swim-hikes, drawing from her background in leading all-women walking groups to create relaxed and enjoyable swimming experiences devoid of competition or pressure. Outside of her guiding ventures, Suzanna explores the quieter corners of the Lake District, scouting for idyllic swim spots.

A seasoned competitor, she has participated in the Winter Swimming World Championships and clinched a medal at the inaugural Scottish Winter Swimming Championships in 2019. Suzanna shares her home in West Cumbria with her spirited companion, Rosie the dog. Swimming Wild in the Lake District marks her debut as an author.
